Member of the Academic Committee of the Latin American Center for Development Administration and Chair of the Ethics Commission of the Spanish Olympic Committee. Pablo Acosta Gallo

Pablo Acosta Gallo holds a PhD in Law and is an Associate Professor of Administrative Law at the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences of Rey Juan Carlos University. He practiced law for ten years and has conducted and directed research in various areas, most notably public safety, the environment in urban planning, public health, and state responsibility for the operation of public services. He has extensive experience in university administration and is a founding member of the Observatory.

Isabel Bazaga Fernández

Associate Professor. PhD in Political Science from Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Coordinator of the Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Public Management. Director of the Master’s Programme in Strategic Management of Public Security. Researcher at the Observatory of Good Governance.

Manuel Tamayo Sáez

Associate Professor of Political Science at Rey Juan Carlos University. Researcher at the Instituto Universitario Ortega y Gasset since 1988. Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Universidad Complutense de Madrid and a Diploma in Applied Social Research and Data Analysis from the European Consortium for Political Research. Earned a PhD from Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 2002. Researcher at the Observatory of Good Governance.

José Manuel Sánchez Duarte

Associate Professor of Political Science at Rey Juan Carlos University. PhD in Communication from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos; PhD in Social Sciences (specialization in Politics) from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo. Postgraduate qualification in Data Analysis (CIS). 

Paloma Bernal Turnes

Associate Professor (Tenured) at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. European PhD in Business Economics from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, Université de Nice, and Università di Roma. Expert in Research Methodologies from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and in Quantitative Research from the UNED, with specialization in international trade, competitiveness, corruption, and good governance. Researcher at the Observatory of Good Governance research team.

Ruth Cicuéndez Santamaría

Associate Professor (PhD) in Political Scienceand Public Administration at Rey Juan Carlos University. She holds Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Sociology from the Complutense University of Madrid. Her research has focused on analyzing citizens’ attitudes and preferences regarding public policy, particularly in relation to public spending and welfare policies. In addition, she has worked on multilevel governance and intergovernmental relations and, more recently, on institutional capacities, good governance, and integrity. She has participated in research projects related to these topics and has published in leading academic journals.

Javier Lorente Fontaneda

Javier Lorente Fontaneda is an Associate Professor of Political Science and Public Administration at Rey Juan Carlos University. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the Autonomous University of Madrid and has served as a pre-doctoral visiting researcher at the European University Institute in Florence. His research focuses on political and electoral behavior, with a special emphasis on young people’s relationship with politics, the formation of political attitudes, and the role of generations in shaping ideology and other political orientations and behaviors. He has participated in various competitive national research projects funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation, the Center for Sociological Research, and other institutions. He has also served as a researcher on international projects funded by the European Commission under the H2020 program. He is the author of articles in national and international journals, a monograph, and book chapters on political ideology, political culture, and participation, particularly in contexts of social change.

Irene Sánchez-Vítores

Assistant Professor of Political Science at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. She holds a PhD in Political and Social Sciences from the European University Institute (Florence). She obtained a Master’s degree in Social Science Research from the European University Institute and an MA in Democracy and Government from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. She graduated in Political Science and Law from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Researcher at the Observatory of Good Governance and the GENPOL project led by Professor Gema García-Albacete.

Sara Carrasco Granger

PhD in Legal and Political Sciences from University Rey Juan Carlos. Graduated in Policy Studies from Syracuse University, NY, USA. Holds a Master's Degree in International Migration from the University of Valencia and a Master's Degree in Public and Ethical Policies for Democratization and Development from IEPALA, Complutense University of Madrid. She has participated in several research projects including H2020 PERCEPTIONS, defense of an international refugee visa in collaboration with the lawyer’s school in Paris, and documenting human rights violations in the West Bank in collaboration with the Women’s Affairs Technical Committee in Ramallah. She currently collaborates with the Platform for International Cooperation on Undocumented Migrants (PICUM). Expert in migration and human rights. 

Luis Ramos Rodríguez

Postdoctoral Research Fellow (PhD). He was a FPU 2021 PhD Candidate at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. He holds a Master's Degree in Advancced Studies in Political Communication from Universidad Complutense de Madrid. He graduated in Political Science and Public Management and in Economics from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. Diploma in Data Analysis Techniques and Big Data from URJCx. His research focuses on far and radical right populist parties and leaders, populist attitudes, democractic backsliding and the simbolical construction of perceptions of corruption.

In the private sector, he worked as a consultant for regulatory processes, public advocacy, and political communication.

Katrina Kurtelius Calderón

PhD Candidate and Research Assistant at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. Master's Degree in Government and Public Administration in Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Graduated in Political Science and Public Management and in Economics. She is currently working in the Observatory under RESONANT Project, where she conducts her thesis on information suppression as part of FIMI and also participates in related projects' Network of Interest. Her research interesents also include Digital Authoritarianism and Data Sovereignty.

Sara C. Alves Afonso

Sara Afonso is a PhD Candidate at the University Rey Juan Carlos within the EU-GLOCTER project funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions. Her research project explores the topic of Local Dynamics of Radicalisation, more specifically focusing on how these potentially impact the reintegration of radical and extremist individuals. Her research also focuses on the evaluation of reintegration policies and programmes towards establishing best practices in the field.  

Sara holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology from the University of Porto and a Master’s degree in Terrorism, International Crime and Global Security from Coventry University. In the private sector, she worked as a Researcher and Consultant, having developed and implemented several EU-funded projects on the prevention of radicalisation and extremism from a community-centred perspective, as well as on the reintegration and rehabilitation of radical and extremist individuals. Sara is a member of the EU Knowledge Hub for the Prevention of Radicalisation and the European Expert Network on Terrorism Issues. 

José Luis Postigo Sierra

M.Eng., in Agricultural Engineer from the Technic University of Madrid (UPM). He holds the Project Manager Certification from the International Project Management Association (IPMA). He holds the Project Manager certification from the International Project Management Association (IPMA). He has worked as an adjunct professor in the Department of Public Law and Political Science at URJC, combining this role with the management of the company INTUMA SL, where he served as administrator for more than 20 years, working on various civil engineering projects both nationally and internationally. He holds a Master’s degree in Intelligence Analysis from URJC and a Specialist Degree in NGO Management and Promotion from the University Institute for Development and Cooperation at UCM. He has collaborated with the Innovation and Technology for Development Centre (itdUPM) on projects funded by AECID and FAO. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the NGO ONGAWA, where he contributes to several development cooperation projects, and he has previously served on the Governing Board of the Spanish NGO Coordinator and on the Board of Directors of the Third Sector Platform.
