Pablo Acosta Gallo holds a PhD in Law and is an Associate Professor of Administrative Law at the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences of Rey Juan Carlos University. He practiced law for ten years and has conducted and directed research in various areas, most notably public safety, the environment in urban planning, public health, and state responsibility for the operation of public services. He has extensive experience in university administration and is a founding member of the Observatory.

Javier Lorente Fontaneda is an Associate Professor of Political Science and Public Administration at Rey Juan Carlos University. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the Autonomous University of Madrid and has served as a pre-doctoral visiting researcher at the European University Institute in Florence. His research focuses on political and electoral behavior, with a special emphasis on young people’s relationship with politics, the formation of political attitudes, and the role of generations in shaping ideology and other political orientations and behaviors. He has participated in various competitive national research projects funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation, the Center for Sociological Research, and other institutions. He has also served as a researcher on international projects funded by the European Commission under the H2020 program. He is the author of articles in national and international journals, a monograph, and book chapters on political ideology, political culture, and participation, particularly in contexts of social change.

His research focuses on far and radical right populist parties and leaders, populist attitudes, democractic backsliding and the simbolical construction of perceptions of corruption.

Sara Afonso is a PhD Candidate at the University Rey Juan Carlos within the EU-GLOCTER project funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions. Her research project explores the topic of Local Dynamics of Radicalisation, more specifically focusing on how these potentially impact the reintegration of radical and extremist individuals. Her research also focuses on the evaluation of reintegration policies and programmes towards establishing best practices in the field.
Sara holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology from the University of Porto and a Master’s degree in Terrorism, International Crime and Global Security from Coventry University. In the private sector, she worked as a Researcher and Consultant, having developed and implemented several EU-funded projects on the prevention of radicalisation and extremism from a community-centred perspective, as well as on the reintegration and rehabilitation of radical and extremist individuals. Sara is a member of the EU Knowledge Hub for the Prevention of Radicalisation and the European Expert Network on Terrorism Issues.
M.Eng., in Agricultural Engineer from the Technic University of Madrid (UPM). He holds the Project Manager Certification from the International Project Management Association (IPMA). He holds the Project Manager certification from the International Project Management Association (IPMA). He has worked as an adjunct professor in the Department of Public Law and Political Science at URJC, combining this role with the management of the company INTUMA SL, where he served as administrator for more than 20 years, working on various civil engineering projects both nationally and internationally. He holds a Master’s degree in Intelligence Analysis from URJC and a Specialist Degree in NGO Management and Promotion from the University Institute for Development and Cooperation at UCM. He has collaborated with the Innovation and Technology for Development Centre (itdUPM) on projects funded by AECID and FAO. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the NGO ONGAWA, where he contributes to several development cooperation projects, and he has previously served on the Governing Board of the Spanish NGO Coordinator and on the Board of Directors of the Third Sector Platform.
